Tyla, Ayra Starr, Davido, And More African Stars Nominated For 2024 Grammy Awards

The highly anticipated 2024 Grammy Awards nominations are out and African stars are stepping into the global spotlight with the addition of the Best African Music Performance category.

Nigerian stars dominated the Best African Music Performance nominations. They are ‘Amapiano’ by Asake and Olamide, ‘City Boys’ by the Grammy award-winning Burna Boy, and ‘Unavailable’ by Davido feat. Musa Keys, ‘Rush’ by Ayra Starr, and finally ‘Water’ by South African sensation Tyla.

Burna Boy’s collaboration with 21 Savage, ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World,’ shines in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category, his latest album ‘I Told Them’ has been nominated for Best Global Music Album, and ‘Alone’ for Best Global Music Performance.

Davido, who is getting his first-ever nomination for the prestigious award, bagged two other nominations for Best Global Album for his latest album, ‘Timeless’ and Best Global Music Performance for his track ‘Feel’.

ireboy DML earned a nomination in the Album of the Year category for his contributions to Jon Batiste’s ‘World Music Radio.’

CKay earned a Grammy nomination for his work on Janelle Monáe’s ‘The Age of Pleasure,’ which was nominated for Album of the Year. Tems’ nomination came from her contribution to Rihanna’s Black Panther soundtrack ‘Lift Me Up.’

The ceremony is slated for Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena.
