Some people find love, others find friendship and there are those who get scammed. We aren’t talking about “I need to borrow a little money because I’m short of rent”. We’re talking about being taken for millions!
The latest scandal-based documentary on Netflix, The Tindler Swindler, is about how Israeli con-artist Shimon Hayut AKA Simon Leviev misrepresented himself as the son of an Israeli multi-millionaire and defrauded European women he met on Tinder. He lead them to believe that he was working in a dangerous business and was always traveling for work, hence starting long-distance relationships with them. These women would take out loans, send credit cards and even gave him suitcases of cash.
