Kenyan actor Martin Githinji, better known as Daddie Marto, and his wife, Christine Kokueendera, have welcomed their second child.

Sharing the good news via Instagram, Marto said their baby, who arrived on Wednesday last week, is doing okay as well as his wife.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, Weighing in 3.385kgs, at 02.15am on August 25th 2021 our bundle of joy landed. Took time to readjust and get to know him, baby is fine feeding and sleeping, daddy is tired but hanging in there, mommy is taking the biggest hit but it was expected, so all is well. We are indeed blessed,” wrote Marto.

While announcing the pregnancy news earlier this year, Daddie Marto said he hoped their second pregnancy journey would be much easier than their first one.

“We hope it will be different this time. Despite all, she understands that the job must be done. That is why I really love and respect (my wife) despite everything we go through that puts us on opposite sides. We sometimes agree on a bottom line and we progress,” he added.

The couple took time before announcing the news, saying they waited until they were comfortable enough.

In the post, Daddie Marto disclosed that because of their work and the unknown effects pregnancy has on different individuals, they decided to buy time to see how things pan out before going public with the news.

Speaking in an interview with Parents Magazine, Daddie Marto revealed that one of his valued parenthood moments was being able to provide for his family.

“For me the greatest thing about being a parent is accomplishing my mission. As a man I wake up in the morning go toil and provide for my family. When I know I have people to come back to that will value whatever I bring back home, not just any one… My family, that for me as a man is what drives me,” he said.

After dating for two years, Daddie and Koku got married in 2018 in a colorful Ugandan traditional wedding held at the bride’s homeland in Lubowa, Uganda. They welcomed their first child in 2017.
